Commissioners
The State Tax Commission is composed of three members chosen from the two major political parties. They are appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate. The Commissioners hold staggered terms of six years.
The current members are:
Bruce E. Davis, Chairman
Republican. Term expires January 23, 2010. First appointed to the State Tax Commission on July 1, 1990.
Governor Matt Blunt appointed Davis Chairman in January, 2005. Prior to his appointment as Commissioner, Davis served six years as Administrative Secretary to the Commission. He also has held several positions in the Missouri Department of Revenue. Davis is a certified Government Financial Manager and Licensed Real Estate Broker.
Chairman Davis earned a bachelor's degree from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri.
Jennifer Tidwell, Commissioner
Democrat. Term expires January 23, 2008. First appointed to the State Tax Commission on May 3, 2001.
Commissioner Tidwell is certified by the Missouri Real Estate Appraisers Commission as a Residential Appraiser.
Before coming to the Tax Commission, she was a member of the Missouri Senate Appropriations staff where she worked on proposed legislation in Tax Increment Financing. She has previously served as consultant and accountant for several small businesses.
Commissioner Tidwell holds a masters in business administration from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. She also has a bachelor's degree in accounting with a minor in business administration and economics from Baker University in Baldwin, Kansas.
Charles F. Nordwald, Commissioner
Republican. Term expires January 23, 2012. Appointed to the State Tax Commission on April 10, 2006.
Prior to his appointment to the State Tax Commission, Nordwald was owner and operator of Nordwald and Associates Auction and Real Estate Company. Additionally, Nordwald served in the House of Representatives, representing the Nineteenth Legislative District for a period of ten years.
Nordwald is a graduate of Warren County R-III High School and the Missouri Auction School in Kansas City, Missouri. He holds a Missouri and Illinois Real Estate Brokers License.
